Ocean crossing

Cross oceans aboard Avel Vaez — our Marsaudon ORC 57 high-performance catamaran. Built for offshore navigation, configured for real comfort, ready for the Atlantic twice a year. Join us for a leg, or for the full crossing.

The Programme

A real ocean experience aboard a real ocean boat

Between her summer season in the Mediterranean and her winter cruising grounds in the Caribbean, Avel Vaez must cross the Atlantic twice a year. Each crossing is an opportunity to join her for an unforgettable offshore sailing experience — take part in the ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers), join a quieter delivery leg, or experience the rhythm of life at sea on the return crossing.

The Marsaudon ORC 57 is built for this work. Vacuum-infused fiberglass/vinylester sandwich construction, carbon fiber bulkheads, daggerboards, a carbon mast, a full sail wardrobe (main, gennakers, storm sail). It is self-sufficient at sea — solar panels, lithium batteries, water desalination — and equipped for safety in every weather (life rafts, survival suits, full safety package).

The boat accommodates up to six guests in three double cabins, with a large saloon, modern galley and dual showers. Starlink keeps you connected when you want to be. Sail trim, night watches, the joy of long-distance cruising — all of it in the comfort of a top-tier performance catamaran.

Common Questions

What guests ask first

What sailing experience do I need?
None required for the lighter legs. For the full ARC crossing, basic sailing comfort helps but the crew handle everything technical. Many guests use the trip to learn offshore sailing.
How long is each leg?
Gibraltar to Las Palmas via Madeira is roughly seven days (700 NM). The ARC crossing is approximately twenty days (2,700 NM). The Caribbean-to-Med return crossing varies with routing.
Is there a fixed schedule?
The ARC runs annually in November. Other crossings happen seasonally — ask us about upcoming dates for the year you’re considering.
Can I book one cabin or do I need the whole boat?
Both options work. Per-cabin and full-boat charters are available. Berths in shared cabins are also offered for the ARC at a lower rate.
What about connectivity?
Starlink is installed and operational mid-ocean. Limited high-speed internet is included; additional data is available at €15/GB.
