Offshore racing

Step aboard Avel Vaez for the Caribbean regatta season. Marsaudon ORC 57 — built to dominate the competition while offering luxurious comfort. Compete at the highest level against a backdrop of turquoise water, warm trade winds and the world’s most beautiful islands.

The Programme

Race the Caribbean season at the highest level

Avel Vaez is a standout in her class — a Marsaudon ORC 57 combining exceptional speed with unmatched stability. Lightweight construction and an innovative sail plan make her the perfect vessel for regatta enthusiasts looking to compete seriously while enjoying the Caribbean’s beauty.

The Caribbean regatta season runs roughly January through April: RORC Caribbean 600 (Antigua), Heineken Regatta (St Maarten), BVI Spring Regatta, Antigua Sailing Week, Voiles de St Barth. Avel Vaez has raced most of them and continues to. We run racing charters around these events — you can join as crew with experience, or come along as a racing guest.

The boat is built for speed: carbon mast, advanced sail technology, lightweight design that often outpaces the wind. Despite the performance focus, she remains stable in challenging conditions and comfortable to live aboard — essential for the longer offshore legs of races like the RORC 600.

Common Questions

What guests ask first

What level of racing experience do I need?
All levels welcome. Experienced racers can take active roles; first-time racers come along as crew under guidance. The boat’s stability and the experienced skipper make it accessible.
Which races does Avel Vaez compete in?
Primarily RORC Caribbean 600, Voiles de St Barth, and Antigua Sailing Week. Other races on the Caribbean circuit available on request, season-dependent.
Is the boat fast?
Yes. Avel Vaez has finished on the podium in several events and routinely outpaces displacement monohulls and slower catamarans in her class.
Can I bring my own racing team?
Yes — full-boat charters with your own crew are available. We provide the skipper, technical support, and the boat. You bring the team.
When should I book?
Early. The Caribbean regatta season is heavily booked — the prime races sell out 6–12 months in advance.
