Surf Safari

Chase waves at breaks that can only be reached by sea. Sailing catamaran as your basecamp, an experienced surf guide reading the swell and the line-up with you, anchorages chosen for the wind and the tide.

The Programme

A bespoke voyage shaped around the swell

A surf trip on a sailing catamaran combines the thrill of catching waves with the freedom of exploring pristine coastlines. Wake up to the sound of the ocean, sail to uncrowded surf spots, and end your day with sunsets from your deck. The yacht moves with the swell, so you stay where the conditions are best.

Mornings are usually first light at the break — paddle out before the wind builds, work on technique with your guide, and video what we shoot back on the yacht. Afternoons are for the second swell, snorkelling on rest days, or moving the boat to the next island where forecasts look better.

The yacht crew remain focused on hospitality, navigation and anchoring you in the right place. Your surf guide is dedicated to the water — coaching, board selection, reading the conditions, and the kind of small adjustments that make a session click.

Common Questions

Before you book

Do I need prior surfing experience?

No. Our guides teach from a first stand-up through advanced reef breaks. We will match the boards, the breaks and the daily programme to your group — a mixed-experience family or group of friends can ride the same days at different breaks.

When is the best season?

Caribbean — winter swell, December through April. Indonesia — May through October for the dry-season Mentawais window. Maldives — March through October for the outer atolls. We will advise on the right window once you tell us what you want to ride.

What if the swell does not turn up?

The yacht moves. We pick anchorages with multiple breaks within easy reach and use the forecast each morning to decide where to go. On flat days we run snorkelling, foiling, or a passage to the next island.

Can non-surfers come?

Yes — that is the point of the format. The yacht and crew take care of everyone on the trip while the surfers are at the break. Snorkelling, paddleboarding, deck time, and a chef who can do anything from breakfast through a late dinner.
