Havannah Boat House sits on the shore of Havannah Harbour, on the north-west coast of Efate in Vanuatu, looking across the water to Lelepa and Moso islands. The Residence is a group of dark-timber pavilions under thatched roofs of local natangura leaf — a living pavilion, a pool pavilion and a tree house joined by timber walkways, two more pavilions a short walk through the garden — with the Boat House cottage down on the beach.
A private white-sand beach, a deep-water jetty over the coral reef, two plunge pools and a full staff including a private chef make it a complete estate for a family or a group of friends, and The Making Place, the estate’s artisan workshop, ties the stay to the island’s own crafts.
Five bedrooms and four bathrooms across the pavilions and the Boat House cottage, for up to ten guests. The cottage on the beach has its own barbecue kitchen, bathroom and studio. The Residence has a fully equipped chef’s kitchen, an outdoor wood-fired pizza oven and barbecue pavilion, satellite television, high-speed Wi-Fi and sound systems through the pavilions.
Two private pools: one at the main Residence, one at the Boat House. The beach deck and the overwater jetty are the estate’s sunset and star-gazing spots.
The estate is fully staffed: estate managers who coordinate transport and activities, a private chef cooking from local produce and seafood, daily housekeeping with turn-down and laundry, grounds keepers, a boat captain and night security.
Stays are sold as all-inclusive packages with catered meals from beach barbecues to fine dining, pre-arrival provisioning of groceries, wines and spirits, private transfers to and from Efate’s airport, and event hosting for small weddings, milestones or retreats. Rates are per night, three-night minimum.
Port Havannah lies on the north-west coast of Efate, Vanuatu’s main island, on the sheltered waters of Havannah Harbour facing Lelepa and Moso islands. The estate is reached by road from Port Vila and its international airport, with private transfers arranged by the estate.
