The Point Estate stands on the south-western tip of Moskito Island, in the British Virgin Islands, on a cliff above Manchioneel Beach with Virgin Gorda across the water. The architecture is contemporary and open — timber, thatch and glass — and the whole estate is taken for exclusive use, with its own staff.
At its centre is a wrap-around infinity pool with a swim-up bar, a shallow lounging area and underwater skylights. Above it, the Crow’s Nest rooftop deck gives a 360-degree view of the Caribbean and the neighbouring islands; below, stairs lead straight down to the beach and its dining pavilion.
Eight bedrooms, including the two master bedrooms — Hillside Master and Seaside Master — and a children’s room with eight bunks, for up to twenty-four guests. Bedrooms open onto decks and terraces facing the sea; one has an outdoor bathtub.
Living spaces include an open lounge, a dining terrace, a games terrace, a cinema room and a kitchen for the private chef. The estate is designed for families, multi-generational groups and groups of friends travelling together.
The Point Estate is fully staffed with a dedicated private chef, a butler and housekeeper, and a laundress, with an estate manager coordinating the stay. Meals, drinks, water sports and a personalised itinerary are built into the rate.
Rates run from $18,500 to $40,000 per night depending on season and group size, with a three-night minimum stay.
Moskito Island lies off the North Sound of Virgin Gorda, in the British Virgin Islands, beside Necker Island. The Point Estate takes the south-western headland, with Manchioneel Beach below and the sunset in front of it.
