Edge of Paradise sits on a promontory on the northern rim of Virgin Gorda, in the Ridge neighbourhood of Oil Nut Bay, facing north and east over Eustatia Sound with Necker Island and, on a clear day, Anegada on the horizon. It is a house for early risers: the sun comes up over the water in front of the terraces.
Designed by Joseph Mosely Architects for the shape of its rock, the villa is invisible from the road and entirely private. Four king suites, a great room under vaulted ceilings, a media room and pools stepping down the hillside, with the resort’s Beach Club a short cart ride away.
Four bedrooms, each with a king bed and an en-suite bathroom: two primary suites on the upper level and two further bedrooms below, all with glass walls to the water. About 372 m² (4,000 sq ft) in all, for up to eight guests.
The great room with its vaulted ceiling opens onto the pool terrace; there is a gourmet kitchen with a breakfast bar, an indoor media room and an outdoor grill. Three pools on two levels follow the slope towards the sea.
Daily housekeeping and nightly turndown, a personalised concierge and two electric carts are part of the stay, along with daily breakfast at the Beach Club, round-trip boat transfers from the airport, the scheduled North Sound water taxi, Wi-Fi, a local phone and a welcome amenity.
A private chef, in-villa dining and butler service can be arranged through the concierge. Rates are per night, four-night minimum.
Oil Nut Bay occupies the easternmost tip of Virgin Gorda, in the British Virgin Islands, reached by a 35-minute private ferry from Beef Island airport or by helicopter to the resort’s own heliport. Edge of Paradise stands on the northern ridge, close to the Beach Club.
